Overview

  • Dates are permalinks — Since I planned to have the date on every post, why not make it the permalink? Two birds, one stone.
  • Hanging punctuation in quote posts — Here’s a good explanation of hanging punctuation, although I didn’t use his specific solution. Basically, it’s a typography thing from print design.
  • Quote sizes — Depending on the length, Mac Envy will style your quote font size in relation to how long the quote is. Short, medium and long quote lengths all have examples on this demo site.
  • Wide-ish layout — Photo and video captions are floated alongside the content instead of after it. This is because the layout is wider overall than normal tumblelogs. However, it’s not quite as wide as Polar Bear or cameron.io. It’s about 100 pixels smaller, so photos and videos are all 400 pixels (or thinner).
